We understand that prayers are personal, and may contain sensitive information which you would prefer to keep private. We’d like to explain what we do with the information you provide, so that you can make an informed decision about whether to use our service.

Your name and email address

Your name helps our volunteers distinguish you from other people requesting prayer. It helps them to think of you as individual and real. We use your email address to let you know that we have prayed for you, and send you encouragement.

We use your name and email address to find any prayer requests you submitted earlier (using the same details) and make them available to the volunteer who is praying for you. Your prayer history helps the volunteer understand more about you, enabling them to offer a more specific prayer.

We do not use your name and email address for any purpose other than those just described. We will not send you email of a promotional nature. We do not send your name and email address to any third party.

The text of your prayer request

The text of your prayer request is displayed to the volunteer who is praying for you. Our volunteers are all either employed by, or working in a voluntary capacity with, Adventist Media at 150 Fox Valley Road, Wahroonga NSW 2076, Australia. Our volunteers are trained to keep your prayer request confidential.

Your device IP address

We use your device IP address to determine the country in which you are located; this is displayed to the volunteer who is praying for you.

Your IP address is also recorded as part of routine activity logging procedures. We may use this information to perform forensic analysis following a security-related incident.

Hosting

Prayer Online is hosted with WPEngine, a retail cloud hosting provider with a commitment to trust and security. Data is encrypted at rest.

Your prayer request is managed within our CRM system, which is built on the SalesForce platform, a leading cloud services provider. Here is their statement on data security and privacy.

Access to your information

Please contact us if you would like to access personal information we hold about you. We will give you access unless we are allowed or required by law to refuse it. We may ask you to pay our reasonable costs of providing access.

We will take reasonable steps to keep your personal information secure, accurate, complete and up-to-date. If we no longer require your personal information, or if you request us to remove it, we will take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.
